Gesu Catholic School benefits from a wonderful and generous community, for which we are grateful. The support of this community enables each one of us and future Gesu families to build upon the great legacy already in place. For 2021, the Gesu committees, Mardi Gras and Boosters, are cooperating on fundraising efforts. Gesu Mardi Gras is an annual fundraising event that raises funds to renovate and modernize our school. Gesu Boosters is the organization that fundraises for Gesu athletics.

GESU MARDI GRAS – RAISING FUNDS TO RENOVATE AND MODERNIZE OUR SCHOOL

WHEN: Saturday, May 8, 2021, 7:00PM *virtual event*

WHAT: Gesu Mardi Gras is the annual event that raises funds to modernize and renovate our school. Through the generosity of our sponsors and donors, we have raised over $100,000 in the past two years, which has fueled renovations and improvements in the school building to provide students and teachers with a cutting-edge learning environment. The funds raised this year will be dedicated to improving the spaces where the students spend the majority of their time: the classrooms. This year’s efforts will focus on new white boards, tack boards and Clevertouch interactive technology to improve the teaching and learning environment for teachers and students.

WHERE (FORMAT): This year, Mardi Gras will be celebrated in a virtual format. We look forward to resuming the usual festive, in-person event in the Gesu Family Center next year!

GESU BOOSTERS BULLDOG BOLT 5K – RAISING FUNDS TO SUPPORT GESU ATHLETIC PROGRAMS & FACILITIES

WHEN: Late October 2021

WHAT: The Gesu Boosters annual Bulldog Bolt 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk raises funds to support Gesu athletic programs and facilities, and help offset a significant portion of the cost for our students and parishioners. The 2019 Bulldog Bolt had an unprecedented 600+ participants and raised over $25,000! All proceeds generated went toward much needed projects and equipment including a new volleyball net system for the Family Center, updating the boys and girls basketball jerseys, and continued support of our burgeoning lacrosse program – just to name a few. This year’s Bulldog Bolt will take place in October 2021. Thank you for your support!

School Updates - Thanks to Your Support of Mardi Gras!

Thanks to the success of Mardi Gras 2020, updates have been made to many classrooms – new flooring, new paint, new magnetic whiteboards to replace old (original) chalkboards, new CleverTouch interactive displays to replace old projector technology, but there is still much to do for our kids and teachers! Thank you Mardi Gras 2021 supporters!

OLD – Old original chalk board and tray. Teacher cannot easily teach with the old chalk boards because chalk no longer displays clearly for students to see. Chalk boards and trays will be replaced with new magnetic white boards, thanks to Mardi Gras funds!

OLD – Old chalk boards and 12 year old projector and interactive board, which is no longer interactive. Old technology will be replaced with the bright CleverTouch interactive boards, and the chalkboards will be replaced with magnetic white boards and tack boards, thanks to Mardi Gras funds!

NEW! New white boards, thanks to 2020 Mardi Gras funds! Mrs Pokorny and her 4th graders love the new magnetic white boards! So clean! So bright! So versatile!

NEW! New flooring to replace old carpet in Mrs. Casey’s 2nd grade classroom. So much easier to keep clean after a fun day in 2nd grade!

NEW! New CleverTouch interactive display mounted on a cart, thanks to Mardi Gras 2020 funds! This CleverTouch can be moved throughout school for use wherever it’s needed.

Boosters Updates - Thanks for Supporting Gesu Athletics
