Standardized Testing

Gesu School has joined with the Diocese of Cleveland in adopting the MAP Tests of Reading and Math for our standardized testing program.  The test is administered  electronically three times a year to students in grades Kdg.-8.  The data from the test shows areas of strength/weakness within the subtest areas on each test.  It also measures growth between each testing session.  The RIT score gives teachers an idea of the instructional readiness level for each student.  Students also receive a Lexile score for their Reading and national/local stanines and percentile rankings.

Students in grades 1,3,5,7 also take the Cognitive Abilities Test.  First graders take this test in November and the remaining grades take it in March.

Teachers in grades Kdg-2 also administer the DRA reading assessment three times a year to measure growth in reading skills.
