Gifted & Enrichment

ZOOM is Gesu Catholic School’s gifted/enrichment program.  The acronym stands for Zeroing in On Opening Minds.  The program is divided into two sections including the gifted program for students who are identified as gifted in grades 4-8 and the enrichment program which is available to all students in grades K-8.

Gesu’s gifted program begins in the 4th grade and continues through 8th grade with a daily pull-out class based on the grade level reading curriculum.  Students in this program delve deeper into the content while building their analytical skills.  The Socratic Seminar model is utilized as students learn to be critical thinkers, communicate their ideas clearly, and collaborate with peers.  See the attached link for additional information including qualification criteria.

Gesu’s enrichment program is a child-centered, inclusive program designed to expose students to a wide variety of disciplines.  This program includes both in-school activities as well as optional extracurricular opportunities.  Listed below is just a sampling of the many in-school enrichment programs.
