Principal's Welcome

Welcome To Gesu Catholic School

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year.  It is an honor to serve as the principal of a school which is recognized as an integral part of a strong faith community.

This will be a very unique year in the history of Catholic education.  Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have developed a learning model that will allow for students to learn at home as well as at our school.  Students who are working from home each day will link into their Gesu classrooms and participate in their schedules with those classmates who are in the building for the day.   We have worked very hard throughout the summer to create a school environment and safety protocols that will maximize safety and cleanliness for everyone in our school.  We welcome everyone back for a great school year because Gesu Together is always Better Together.

As always, our 720 Gesu students in Preschool-Grade 8 will learn in an atmosphere where the education of the whole child is fundamental; an education of mind and heart with a curriculum enhanced through the integration of faith values. This we believe is possible through the support of our school families, parishioners and a dedicated faculty and staff committed to preparing students to lead lives of meaning and purpose.

Our school is proud to be recognized as a school with strong standards for academic excellence.  Our teachers are certifed and highly qualified.  They are Virtus trained and have fulfilled all background checks required by the State of Ohio.  Within Gesu’s standing as a model Catholic elementary school, your son or daughter will be provided with enriching curricular and co-curricular experiences that will help them reach their academic potential, and further develop a strong Catholic identity in all areas of study. We are proud of the strong spiritual foundation grounded in the Jesuit tradition, our positive moral development and we are blessed to see our students grow into fine Catholics and future leaders, with a commitment to being young men and young women for others.

We hope that you will find this website to be an effective communication tool that is both informative and a means to working collaboratively with you to make your child’s school experience a positive one.  We look forward to developing a successful partnership with you and in working to create a climate and culture that develops and strengthens a deeper faith and a love of learning.

If at any time, you have a question, or would like further information about the school or school programs, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Lucy Iemmolo
